The Consul General of Greece in New York, Dr. Konstantinos Koutras, offered his remarks on Greek Independence Day and George Paralemos represented Governor Andrew Cuomo, who was unable to attend the event. This was a wonderful event, co-hosted by AHEPA Delphi Chapter # 25, delivered to a standing room only audience !

Opera singer Demetrios Jussi Tsinopoulos sang “O Gheros Demos” from the opera Markos Botsaris by Pavlos Karrer. He was accompanied by Pavlos Kordis on keyboard.

The Seraphim Canoutas Lectures began with AHEPA District 6 Director of Civic Responsibility Brother Peter Giakoumis on The Legacy of General Yiannis Makriyiannis. It concluded with AHEPA District 6 Director of Hellenism Brother Lou Katsos on Hellenes and Philhellenes in the War of Independence. Both presentations were riveting.
